Solar Song by Shea Walsh

Newgrange has a window box over the entrance that the winter Solstice sun (when it appears) shines through.

winter-solstice

Winter dragging on
Storming winds crashing seas
Unpredictable rain unstoppable
Low waterlogged land

Ray of hope peering through
A stone window box
Souls rejuvenated by this promise
Altering the earths clock

Re-invigorating humankind
Awaken the land
To plan and prepare
For the Spring crops

Flowers will peek out
Of the weight of darkness
Rousing the birds to sing
Their solar song
